SCHOOL VACATIONS IN SRI LANKA

In Sri Lanka schools are closed for vacations three times an year i e in April. in August and in December. These vacations are for pupils , not for teachers.Yet they enjoy all these vacations while receiving full monthly salaries. Schools are conducted only 200 days an year which means  that teachers do not attend schools at least 165 days an year.It has to be mentioned  that they are  also entitled for 41 days of  paid leave an year. My belief is that these vacations must be used for  retraining and subject knowledge enhancement of the teachers of Sri Lanka.We welcome your comments
